I'm back and here is my hands on with the new HTC 10!

So this past Wednesday we were invited to head down to NYC to check out the latest offering from HTC in smartphones. That offering is the HTC 10. The HTC 10 represent a back to basics for HTC with a metal and glass body and stand out chamfer edges to give the HTC 10 a simple but unique look compared to the competition. The HTC 10 take a step in the right direction when it comes to specs with a 5.2 inch QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB & 64 GB option for storage and micro SD card support for up to 200 GB of additional storage.

The HTC 10 also sports a new speaker design with a tweeter speaker at the bottom and sub woofer at the top. But the biggest audio change is the 24 bit audio DAC build into the headphones for hi-res audio. HTC has always been a champion when it comes to mobile audio and they have taken up another step here with a DAC in the HTC 10.

The cameras have also taken a major step up with a rear facing 12 Ultrapixel camera with OIS, laser auto focus and two tone flash. The front facing camera sports a 5 Utrapixel camera with OIS. A first for a front facing camera according to HTC which should help product better selfies and stabler front facing video. HTC has been on the lacking side when it comes to cameras for awhile so these changes sound great on paper but let’s hope they are also there in use.

For software we have Android 6.0 with HTC customization on it which are a lot lighter then former Sense UI. So far it’s looks clean but I’ll need to use it more to really see. The HTC 10 powers all of this with a 3000 mAH battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support via USB Type-C. HTC says it should get about two days on a single charge.
